Thousands of Change.org users have been calling for an independent investigation and a special prosecutor since President Trump fired former FBI director James Comey last week. One of them is Jill Moore, whose petition skyrocketed to over 80,000 signatures before she declared victory following the appointment of Robert Mueller III to serve as special counsel. Jill’s campaign is one of several thousand on our platform that seek to hold the Trump administration accountable.

“When Comey was fired, I thought, ‘We have to do something,’” Jill said. “It’s as if Trump robbed a bank, then demanded that he select the judge to oversee his case. No one was going to buy that this was a fair and independent investigation.”

Mueller will lead an investigation exploring potential coordination between Trump’s associates and Russian officials during the 2016 Presidential Election.

As his investigation and other developments unfold, here are some actions you can take:

Though she was always politically active, Jill didn’t consider herself an activist until the election. I asked Jill whether she had any advice for petition starters like herself. “When I started my petition, I really didn’t have a clue what I was doing and came up against a lot of surprises,” she said. “You’ve got to be prepared to see it through.”
